About Clarence Thomas
Clarence Thomas is the second African American to serve in the Supreme Court of the United States, being handpicked and nominated by former President George H. W. Bush back in 1991 after a 16-month service at the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He is also notable for serving as the Chairman of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), maintaining the role for eight years from 1982 to 1990 after being appointed by former President Ronald Reagan.
Education
Thomas received his Juris Doctor degree at Yale Law School in 1974, after graduating as Cum Laude in English Literature at the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, Massachusetts) in 1971.
