Former American basketball player, Clark Kellogg played as a power forward for the NBA team, Indiana Pacers, throughout his professional career. Unfortunately, due to a chronic knee injury, his career was cut short.
Early life
Dubbed “Special K” by his friends, Kellogg spent his childhood in East Cleveland, Ohio. He enrolled at St. Joseph High School, Cleveland. As of 2021, Kellogg’s 51 game points at the state finals remained the record for Ohio high schools.
Kellogg’s alma mater is the Ohio State University. He won the Mr. BasketBall USA award during his college days.
NBA Career
In 19832, Kellogg was the eighth overall pick for the Indiana Pacers. In his debut season, he earned a spot in the NBA's All-Rookie Team. In addition, he is amongst the very few NBA rookies to record an average of 20 points and ten rebounds per game.
His career was short-lived due to chronic knee injuries. He played just three complete seasons at the Pacers and nearly half of two other seasons. He recorded a total average of 18.9, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.
Broadcasting Career
As of 2021, he was the lead analyst for college basketball at CBS Sports. He was also featured as the co-commentator on the 2k19 Basketball video game.
