Music Career
She became a singer of the group, The Miracles, and performed alongside artists such as Ronnie White and Pete Moore. The group signed with Motown Records and released the hit single, “Shop Around" which appeared on U.S. music charts. Their song, “The Tears of a Clown,” achieved worldwide success and sold over 3 million copies.
Personal Life
She tied the knot with fellow musician, Smokey Robinson and went on to have 2 children with him.
Honors
In 2009, she earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and 4 years later, she became an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
