About Clive Cussler
Clive Cussler was an adventure novelist of great renown from America. Cussler is best remembered for his famous Dirk Pitt novels. Throughout his career, he sold over 100 million copies of his books, making him one of America's most successful adventure novelists.
Aside his literary career, he was also an oceanographer. His passion for underwater exploration saw him found the American non-profit organization, the National Underwater and Marine Agency.
Personal Life
In 1955, Cussler and Barbara Knight tied the knot. Their marriage produced three children, namely Dayna, Teri and Dirk. Cussler and Barbara remained married until his death in 2020.
Trivia
He served for about 2 years in the United States Air Force. This was during the infamous Korean War of the early 1950s.
Cussler's underwater exploration saw him personally discover several dozens of shipwreck sites. One of his biggest finds was the famous RMS Carpathia (which is said to have been the first ship that came to the rescue of the survivors of the Titanic in 1912).
