About Con Conrad
American songwriter and producer Con Conrad rose to fame after releasing "Come on Spark Plug" with co-composer and co-lyricist Billy Rose in 1923.Career
In 1912, Conrad released his first song "Down in Dear Old New Orleans", which gained a lot of recognition. With J. Russel Robinson and lyricist Benny Davis, he went on to co-compose "Margie" (1920), which became one of his major musical successes. The songwriter also produced "Barney Google" with co-composer and co-lyricist Billy Rose in 1923 and "Lonesome and Sorry" with lyricist Benny Davis in 1926. He later released "Ma! He's Making Eyes at Me" with lyricist Sidney Clare in 1928.
Personal Life
Conrad was married to Francine Larrimore until he died in 1938.
Achievements
The songwriter was posthumously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
