Early Life and Education
The poet was born to Aleksander and Weronika Milosz and lived most of his youth in Poland with his two siblings. He graduated from the Sigismund Augustus Gymnasium. In 1929, he enrolled in Stefan Batory University to study law.
Career
Milosz survived WWII and birthed deep-rooted thoughts about morality, conflicts, faith, and history. The poet later became a professor at the University of California and produced several notable works. Some of which was "The Creative Mind" in 1953, "A treatise on Poetry" in 1957, and "The Rescue" in 1945.
Personal Life
Milosz married Janina Dluska from 1056 to 1986 and later married Carol Thigpen from 1992 to 2002. The poet died in 2004 and was survived by 2 children.
