Career
Originally, Daddy Yankee planned to be a professional baseball player. He tried out for the Seattle Mariners, but this dream ended when he was wounded by a gunshot. Fortunately, his music career took off not long after with much success. Daddy Yankee's first recording was on DJ Playa's mixtape Playero 34. He has since released seven studio albums and been on three compilation albums. In total, Daddy Yankee's music has sold 18 million albums worldwide. His most recent release, King Daddy, has collaborations from people such as reggaeton artists J Alvarez and Arcángel.
