About Dahntay Jones
Dahntay Jones is a retired basketball player and coach. He started playing basketball from high school, through to college, before being drafted in 2003 by the Boston Celtics. He made his first professional appearance for the Memphis Grizzlies in 2003. After spending four years with the said team, Jones joined the Sacramento Kings for a half-season.
Later, he moved to Fort Wayne Mad Ants in 2008. Other teams he has played for include Indiana Pacers, Dallas Mavericks, Grand Rapids Drive, Los Angeles Clippers, and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Coaching career
In 2020, Jones made his coaching debut when he was hired by the Los Angeles Clippers as its player development as well as video coach.
Education
He was educated at Steinert High School, Rutgers University, and Duke University.
Family
His parents are Larry Jones and Joanne. In 2011, he tied the knot with Valeisha Butterfield. His children go by the names Dillon, and Dahntay Jr. He has a cousin named Al Harrington.
Awards
In 2003, he was selected to the First-team All-ACC. He is also a two-time ACC All-Defensive Team player. Again, he was selected into the 1999 Big East All-Rookie Team. Additionally, in 2016, he won the NBA championship with Cleveland Cavaliers. He also won the 2001 FIBA U21 World Championship with the US.
