About Dana Andrews
Dana Andrews was a household name throughout the 1940s when he starred in many film noir productions. His journey to stardom started in 1938 after he was discovered by renowned filmmaker Samuel Goldwyn during a stage play.
He gained prominence for his Det. Lt. Mark McPherson role in the 1944 film titled “Laura”. He went on to star in other popular films like “The Best Years of Our Lives” and “The North Star”.

Andrews was raised in a very large family. His parents were Annis Speed and Charles Forrest Andrews. He had 12 other siblings including actor Steve Forrest.
His first wife Janet Murray, whom he married in 1932, died three years later. Their union produced a son called David. In 1939, he wedded a lady called Mary Todd and together they had three kids named Susan, Katharine, and Stephen.
