About Danny Carey
At age 10, Danny Carey joined his school band where he began training as a drummer. In his final year in high school, he joined a jazz band and continued during his time in college. After his college education, he moved to Portland where he began working with other prominent artistes like the Pigmy Love Circus, and singer Carole King.
He established his name in the industry after joining the rock band known as ‘Tool’ in 1990. Together with Maynard James Keenan, and Justin Chancellor, he helped the group to release their maiden studio album in 1993 which was under the name “Undertow”.
By the end of 2019, the collective, with the help of Carey, has released a total of five studio albums.
Education
He’s a proud product of the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
Achievements
As a member of the aforementioned group, he has received many laurels including AMFT Awards, Grammy Awards, and the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Trivia
Growing up, he looked up to some top musicians like Tony Williams, Billy Cobham, and John Bonham.
In December 2021, he was grabbed by the police at the Kansas City International Airport for allegedly assaulting a security personnel at the facility.
