About Dave Koz
Dave Koz’s journey to fame began in the 1980s when he toured with singer Bobby Caldwell. The American saxophonist and composer went on to perform with Jeff Lorber before joining the band of Richard Marx.
After a number of recordings with the group, Koz began to perform as a solo artist in 1989. The following year, through Capitol Records, he released his self-titled maiden album. Since then, he has released a number of studio albums with some titled “Saxophonic” and “Lucky Man”.
Family
His parents are simply referred to as Audrey and Norman. He came out as gay in 2004.
Education
Before enrolling at the University of California in Los Angeles, he studied at Taft High School, Woodland Hills.
Achievements
This musician won the “Best Contemporary Jazz Artist/Group” prize at the 2011 Soul Train Music Award. That aside, he has also been shortlisted for awards such as the Grammy Awards, and the NAACP Image Awards. In 2009, a star was placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in his honor.
