About David Ellefson
From 1983 until their dissolution in 2002, and again from 2010 until 2021, David Ellefson served as the bassist and co-founding father of the heavy metal group Megadeth. Ellefson has also been involved in other projects, such as Temple of Brutality and Metal Allegiance.
Megadeth
Ellefson has been the band's most reliable member. He steered the band to produce a number of hit records, including songs like "Family Tree" from the album “Youthanasia”.
F5
After Megadeth split up in 2002, Ellefson created F5. The band included Jimmy DeGrasso, a former member of Megadeth, on drums; Steve Conley on lead guitar, Dale Steele on vocals, John Davis on rhythm guitar, and Ellefson on bass. In 2005, they released “A Drug for All Seasons”, their debut album.
Other Works
Ellefson has performed with the melodic electrical steel band Avian. He contributed to one tune on dark a long time in addition to five tracks on Soulfly’s album “Prophecy”. Additionally, he collaborated with the underground rapper and producer Necro's album “Death Rap”.
