Former Irish rugby union player, David Humphreys was known to be a successful rugby player and coach. In his career, he won the 2004 Celtic Cup and the Celtic league in 2005 and 2006.
Education
The rugby player is an alumnus of Ballymena Academy, the University of Oxford and Queen’s University Belfast.
Amateur Career
Humphreys began his amateur career with the Queen's University RFC, playing the position of a Fly-half in 1990. He also had short spells with the Ballymena R.F.C. in 1994 and the Oxford University RFC from 1994 to 1995. He played for Dungannon RFC in 1998.
Senior career
He began his professional career with the London Irish RFC in 1996, where he played until 1998 before transferring to Ulster Rugby.
The rugby player featured for the Ireland national team from 1996 to 2006.
Coaching Career
Humphreys delved into the coaching world and made his debut coaching Ulster Rugby in 2008. He coached the team for more than 5 years. From 2014 to 2020, he served as the coach of Gloucester Rugby. He coached the Georgia national rugby union team in the latter months of 2020.
