About Davy Crockett
Davy Crockett was an American politician and a folk hero. He is best known as King of the Wild Frontier. He was a colonel in the militia of Lawrence County, Tennessee. He was elected to the U.S. Congress in 1825, he lost the elections of 1831, he won again in 1833 and he lost again in 1835. He took part in the Texas Revolution and he was killed at the Battle of the Alamo in 1836.
His Legacy
He became very famous during his lifetime, but after his death he was a hero with acts of mythical proportion. He is regarded as one of the best-known American folk heroes of all time.
