About Daya (Grace Martine Tandon)
Grace Martine Tandon, known professionally as Daya, is a singer and songwriter. She was still a high school student when she was invited by Accelerando Music Conservatory founder Christina Chirumbolo and songwriter and producer Gino Barletta for writing and recording sessions. She recorded her debut single “Hide Away” in 2015, not long after honoring the invitation. The song became successful and made her an artist to watch.
She became even more famous after she was featured on “Don’t Let Me Down”, a song by The Chainsmokers in February 2016.
Family Life
She grew up alongside four sisters named Avery, Rachel, Celia and Mariana. Her paternal grandfather was an immigrant to the United States from Punjab, India.
Achievements
“Don’t Let Me Down”, which she was featured on, won a Grammy Award for “Best Dance Recording” in 2017. Her single “Hide Away” has received platinum certifications from the music certification bodies in the United States, Australia, Sweden, Canada and New Zealand.
