About Dion DiMucci
Dion DiMucci is a legendary American singer and songwriter of Italian heritage who is widely recognized for combining elements of various musical genres into his music.
He is also hailed as one of the greatest rock vocalists of the pre-British Invasion era. Born into a family of vaudeville performers he gained an interest in country music and became enamored with the blues and doo-wop performers he heard on the radio and at the local pubs on tour with his father.
He began his professional career in the 1950s first with the vocal group Dion and the Belmonts as the main vocalist. In the ensuing years, he went on a solo career releasing a string of successes, including “Runaround Sue”, "Ruby Baby”, “Lovers Who Wander”, "Suite for Late Summer", "Son of Skip James", among others.
