Donald Rumsfeld rose to popularity as a businessman and politician. He is known for being the 13th and the 21st United States Secretary of Defense. Other prominent public offices he held include White House Chief of Staff, which he held from 1974 to 1975 and the United States Ambassador to NATO. Prior to that, he served as the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois' 13th district from 1963 to 1969.
