About Doug Flutie
Doug Flutie wrote his name in the history books of the National Football League after joining the Buffalo Bills in 1998. Aside from the Bills, he has also played for other renowned teams such as Chicago Bears, and New England Patriots. He was mostly used as a quarterback.
He actually established his name in the sport during his college days when he featured for the Boston College side. He made his mark in a match against the Miami Hurricanes football team in 1984 when he gave a memorable Hail Mary pass which is dubbed "The Pass". The American retired football player also played in the United States Football, and Canadian Football leagues.
Family
His parents, Joan and Dick Flutie were crucial in his rise to prominence. He has two older siblings called Denise and Bill. He married his childhood girlfriend, Laurie, in 1985. His children are Alexa and Doug Jr.
Achievements
His name has been added to many halls of fame including the “College Football Hall of Fame”. In 1998, he won the “NFL Comeback Player of the Year”. He also won the “Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award” and the “Heisman Trophy” in 1984.
Trivia
In 2007, he became the only non-Canadian to be inducted into “Canada's Sports Hall of Fame”.
