About Dylan Thomas
Having been a published poet as early as his teenage years, Dylan Marlais Thomas went on to become famous internationally. The Welsh poet is known for the popular poems “And death shall have no dominions” and “Do not go gentle into that good night”. He also worked with the BBC as a broadcaster, reading his poems and taking part in discussions. He toured art centres and theatres in New York with his poetry readings in 1950.
Family Life
His father, David John Thomas was an English teacher, while his mother, Florence Hannah Williams was a seamstress. He had a sister called Nancy Marles. Writer Caitlin Macnamara was his wife from 1937 until his death. They had three children.
Death
He passed away on 9 November, 1953 at the age of 39. It was discovered that he had been battling with undiagnosed pneumonia and bronchitis.
