About Edgar Cayce
Unlike many clairvoyants who usually consult higher deities, Edgar Cayce’s channelling sessions were known to involve what he claimed to be his own higher self.
He would induce a trance (initially through the help of his wife or friend, Al Layne) in order to initiate the channelling sessions during which he would respond to questions on a variety of topics. The topics included reincarnation, healing, afterlife, dreams and future events.
Family Life
His parents, Leslie Burr Cayce and Carrie Elizabeth Major were both farmers. He was raised along with five siblings. In 1903, he married a woman named Gertrude Evans, with whom he later had three children.
Controversies
He has been criticised by sceptics and science writers for faking his psychic abilities and for putting people in danger with his unverified treatments, which he recommended for his clients.
Death
He died from a stroke on 3 January 1945.
