Edi Gathegi is a Kenyan-American actor, best known for his roles in the romantic fantasy films "Twilight" and "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," where he played Laurent.
Gathegi could easily have been a standout basketball player as he was athletically inclined and focused on basketball throughout his undergraduate years, but a knee injury disrupted his first passion, forcing him to pursue acting.
He made his professional acting debut in the 2006 action thriller "Crank" as a Haitian Cabbie, and has since captivated audiences with his outstanding performances in films and television shows such as "Criminal Activities," "Bleeding Heart," "Into the Badlands," and "Beauty & the Beast."
