About Edmund Burke
Edmund Burke was a British-Irish author, philosopher, and politician best remembered for his immense support for the American Revolution and for strongly opposing the French Revolution. As a member of the Whig party, he served as a member of parliament in the British House of Commons for several years.
Family Life
He was born to Mary and Richard Burke, who was a well-known solicitor. He got married to Jane Mary Nugent in 1757. He and Mary had two sons, one of whom died in infancy. He remained married to Mary until his death in 1797.
