During his reign, he restored royal authority, he established Parliament as a permanent institution and he also established a system for raising taxes. He also reformed the law.
His Personal Life
He had 14-16 children by Eleanor of Castile and 3 children by Margaret of France. When he died in 1307, he left his son an ongoing war with Scotland and many financial and political problems.
