Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton was an American philanthropist and a socialite who wrote her name in the history books as the wife of one of America’s founding fathers called Alexander Hamilton. She supported most of the works of her husband. As a philanthropist, she co-founded the Graham Windham orphanage and also supported the Orphan Asylum Society.
Family
She was raised in one of the richest and powerful families in the country. Her parents are called Philip Schuyler and Catherine Van Rensselaer. She married Alexander in 1780 and together they had eight children including Philip Hamilton, Angelica Hamilton, and James Alexander Hamilton.
