Career
The writer began her professional career in the 1920s, working as a freelance writer. She later became a newspaper writer and a Hollywood screenwriter. She published her first novel "Riders of the Wind" in 1926 and rose to fame after publishing the "Williamsburg" series, which included books such as, "Dawn's Early Light" in 1943, "Ever After" in 1945, "This Was Tomorrow" in 1951, and "Homing" in 1957. Thane also published other works, including, "Mount Vernon Family " in 1968 and "The Fighting Quaker: Nathanael Greene" in 1972.
