Enoch Powell was a British politician, whose political career saw him occupy a number of important positions, including Minister of Health and Shadow Secretary of State for Defense. He is best known for his 1968 xenophobic speech on immigration, popularly known as the “Rivers of Blood” speech. The speech sparked controversy all over the United Kingdom and led to his dismissal from his post as Shadow Secretary of State for Defense.

He was married to Pamela Wilson from 1952 until his death in 1998. He had two daughters from the marriage.
