About Eoin Morgan
A very popular player in the world of cricket, Eoin Morgan is popularly known for playing internationally and representing England as its captain from 2015 to 2022. He famously led England to gold at the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup held in England and Wales.
His Early Life
Born to an Irish father and an English mother, Morgan began playing cricket at a very young age. His professional development began while training at Rush Cricket Club; a team his father had held the position of Third XI captain.
He studied at the Catholic University School.
Professional Cricketing Career
Morgan began his professional career at the age of 17 when he played for the Irish youth teams Under-17 level and later progressed to playing with the Under-19 teams. As an Under-19 player, he came on top as the best scorer in his team.

One of the major moments in Morgan’s career was replacing Matt Prior, a renowned cricketer, to play the position of wickets and batting representing England during the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa. His performance was outstanding, winning against both the South African team and the team from Sri Lanka.
Morgan has played in a number of tournaments both domestic and international, and he is, as of 2021, considered the all-time leading run-scorer and most-capped player for England. He announced his decision to retire from international games in June 2022.
Honors
During the 2020 New Year Honours, Morgan was honored with the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to the advancement of cricket in the UK and beyond.
