About Erwin Schrödinger
Erwin Schrödinger (Erwin Rudolf Josef Alexander Schrödinger) was an Austrian physicist. Among others, he is best known for his "Schrödinger's cat" thought-experiment. It involved a cat, which may be both alive and dead at the same time, a state best known as a quantum superposition.
His Legacy
He developed the wave equation and he wrote about statistical mechanics and thermodynamics, colour theory, physics of dielectrics, electrodynamics, philosophy, theoretical biology and general relativity, among other fields.
His Awards
He won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1933 for the formulation of the Schrödinger equation.
His Personal Life
He was married to Annemarie (Anny) Bertel. He died of tuberculosis in 1961.
