Background & Early Life
Luchini is of Italian descent. However, he was born and raised in Paris, France. Growing up, he disliked formal education and would rather spend his school time selling fruits on the streets. His mother, realizing this attribute about him, later sent him to learn under a skillful hairdresser whose salon was at Avenue Matignon. At the salon, all the customers called him Fabrice, eventually leading him to adopt the name as his first name.
Career Highlights
After meeting Philippe Labro in the 1960s, the film director gave him his debut film role in “Tout peut arriver.” He then played a minor role for Eric Rohmer in his film “Le Genou de Claire.”
Over the decades, he has worked with many internationally acclaimed directors, such as Christian Vincent, Nagisa Oshima, Edouard Molinaro, and the like.
In 2015, he was honored with the “Volpi Cup for Best Actor” during the Venice International Film Festival for his brilliant performance in “Courted.”
In May 2016, the actor starred in “Ma Loute,” a comedy film selected at the 69th Cannes Film Festival.
