Early Life
Born in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, she attended the University of the Andes, where she graduated with a degree in industrial engineering.
Acting Career
Her television career kicked off in 1994 as the presenter of the popular show “Locomotora”. Lu’s most recognizable role was Silvanna in the Colombian telenovela, “Pobre Pablo”. This Latin actress also featured in Perro Amor and lent her voice to the Spanish version of the animated film, “Open Season” (Amigos Salvajes).
Music Career
Lu transitioned to music easily with her debut album, “Lágrimas Cálidas” staying on the Hot 100 Billboard charts in Latin America for five consecutive weeks. This pop star recorded the theme song for the Spanish version of the animated Disney film “Tangled”. In 2007, she won her first award for Tropical Airplay New Artist Song of the Year.
Personal Life
Lu married her manager in 1999 but they got divorced in 2011. They have two children together.
