About Felix Mendelssohn
Felix Mendelsshon was a German composer, pianist, organist, and conductor during the early Romantic period of music.
His Work
Felix Mendelsshon was seen as a prodigy early in his life. He is famous for his compositions, and also for bringing the works of baroque composer Johann Sebastian Bach into light. Though the Romantic period of music is more known for progressive composers, Mendelsshon was considered conservative musically. This is shown in his founding of the Leipzig Conservatoire. Mendelsshon is famous for writing incidental music for the play A Midsummer Night's Dream. He also wrote The Italian Sympohny and Fingal's Cave.
