Florence Ballard was a talented American singer who was known for her powerful, sweet, and melodious voice as well as a founding member of the female singing band “The Supremes”. She contributed to sixteen top forty singles and many other hit songs upon leaving the band in 1967 due to a disagreement with Motown Records.
Her career, on the other hand, was cut short owing to her premature demise.

Her father, Jesse Ballard who was also a musician, exposed her to the world of music. Her mother is known as Lurlee Ballard. She was raised together with her five siblings namely Maxine Ballard, Jesse Lambert Ballard, Jr, Gilbert Ballard, Cornell C. Ballard, and Sir, Billy Ballard.
She was married to Thomas Chapman, a Motown Records chauffeur and they had three daughters together namely, Lisa Chapman, Nicole Chapman, and Michelle Chapman.
