About Frances Bavier
Frances Bavier began her acting career, as a stage performer, in the mid-1920s. One of her most memorable Broadway roles was in the play “On Borrowed Time”. Her on-screen debut followed in 1931.
She is remembered best for portraying Aunt Bee in the television sitcom series “The Andy Griffith Show” (1960-1968) and its spin-off series “Mayberry R.F.D” from 1968 to 1970.
