Family Life
She was the daughter of Max Goffman and Ann Averbach, both Ukrainian Jewish immigrants. Sociologist Erving Goffman was her brother.
Her husband from 1918 to 2002 was Charles Irwin Bay. Their only child, Josh, died in 1970 aged 23.
Achievements
She was a recipient of the Gemini Award and Drama-Logue Award. She is also an inductee of Canada’s Walk of Fame.
Death
She died on 15 September 2011 from pneumonia complications.
