About Francis Poulenc
French composer Francis Poulenc started his musical career at a very young age. In 1916, he began converting some popular poems into music which attracted lots of attention. His first notable work came the following year which was entitled “Rapsodie nègre”.
The highly-rated composer was best known for his 1919 piano suite entitled “Trois mouvements perpétuels”. Throughout his career which lasted over three decades, he produced a number of good works which included ballets, piano works, and operas. Some of his well-known pieces were titled “Concert champêtre” and “Dialogues des Carmélites”.
Family
He spent his early years with his parents Jenny Royer and Émile Poulenc.
Education
He was trained at the Lycée Condorcet.
Trivia
At the initial stages of his profession, he was influenced by Igor Stravinsky and Franz Schubert.
He also performed alongside some well-known musicians like Denise Duval and Pierre Bernac.
