About Francisco Rodriguez
Francisco Rodriguez played baseball professionally as a pitcher from 2002 to 2017. He played in the minor leagues from 1998 as an undrafted free agent until his debut in the Major League Baseball (MLB) with the Los Angeles Angels (known at the time as the Anaheim Angels) in 2002.
He joined the New York Mets in 2009, playing until he was sent to the Milwaukee Brewers in a trade deal in 2011. He also played for the Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers.
Personal Life
He grew up in Caracas, Venezuela. He is an adherent of the Santeria religion. He is a father of nine.
Achievements
He was a two-time recipient of the AL Rolaids Relief Man Award and a three-time AL saves leader. He also won the 2002 World Series.
Controversy
He was indefinitely suspended by the New York Mets after he was arrested and arraigned before court for physically assaulting his girlfriend’s father in August 2010.
