About Francois Steyn
Francois Steyn made his international debut in professional rugby in 2006 and became known for his ability to kick the ball over long distances. He is also recognized as one out of two South African players to have won the Rugby World Cup two times (as of 2021).
Club & International Career
Steyn made his club debut in 2007, playing for the Sharks. He also played for the French sides, Racing Metro and Montpellier, as well as the Japanese rugby club the Toshiba Brave Lupus. In 2020, he joined the Free State Cheetahs.
He represented his home country of South Africa at the international level, participating in major tournaments such as the Currie Cup and the Rugby World Cup.
Achievements
After participating in the 2019 Rugby World Cup, Steyn became one of the few players to have won two World Cup competitions.
In 2012, he became the youngest person in South African rugby history to reach the 50th test cap milestone.
