About Frank Gifford
Gifford was an NFL Hall of Famer who spent his 12 years playing career with the New York Giants. Following his retirement as a player, he became a commentator under ABC's live broadcast dubbed “Monday Night Football”, where he spent the next twenty-seven years.
Family Life
His father, Weldon Gifford worked as an oil driller, while his mother is Lola Hawkins. His siblings were Winona, Waine, and actress, Frances Gifford. His wife was American presenter, singer and author, Kathie Gifford. His children were Jeff, Kyle, Victoria, Cassidy, and Cody Gifford.
Achievements
In 1956, he won the NFL Championship, and the NFL Most Valuable Player. He was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 1962.
He was inducted into the NSMA Hall of Fame in 2017 and was initiated into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977. His name was included in the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2012.
At the Primetime Emmy Awards, his work on "NFL Monday Night Football" earned him nominations for the "Outstanding Sports Personality" (1976) and "Outstanding Achievement in Sports Programming" (1974).
