About Frank Morgan
Frank Morgan was the professional alias of Francis Wuppermann, an American radio, film and stage actor. He became a household name through his roles in silent films from 1916 onwards and then in films with sound in the 1930s and 1940s.
His most popular role was the Wizard in the film, “The Wizard of Oz”. His other notable roles include Jesse Kiffmeyer in “Saratoga”, Professor Roth in “The Mortal Storm” and Mr. Ferris in “Casanova Brown”.
Family Life
He was the last of the eleven children of George Diogracia Wupperman and Josephine Wright Hancox. Actor Ralph Morgan was his brother. He had one son with his wife Alma Muller, whom he married in 1914.
Achievements
He has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Death
He died on September 18, 1949, from a heart attack.
