About Frank O'Hara
Francis Russell O’Hara was a reputable American writer, art critic and poet.
Career
He was a teacher at The New School for some time. He also worked at the Museum of Modern Arts as an assistant curator of sculpture and painting exhibitions. Prior to that, he was a reviewer for Artnews. He was a poet whose writings focused mainly on New York life. He also did a stint in the Navy. Despite his apparent interest in music, he studied English at Harvard. In 1951, he met Joe LeSueur and together, they had a relationship to the point of living together for some time.
