Frank Thornton Ball was an English actor best known for his role as Peacock in the Bristish comedy movie, “Are You Being Served?”. He also appeared in “Grace & Favour” as well as for playing Herbert ‘Truly’ Truelove in “Last of the Summer Wine”.
He debuted in 1954 film, “Radio Cab Murder” and TV series, “William Tell”.
He made appearances in several sitcoms and television series such as “Sykes”, “Hancock”, “Love Thy Neighbour”, “The Goodies”, “Steptoe and Son”, and “The Sentimental Agent”, among others.

His father, William Ernest Ball was an organist and a banker, and his mother was Rosina Mary Thornton.
He wedded actress, Beryl Evans in 1945 and had a daughter known as Jane.
