Career
A native of Brundidge in Alabama, Baxter attended Auburn University, where he played as the tight end. In 1993, Baxter was selected by the New York Jets in the 1993 NFL Draft. He played for the Chicago Bears from 2001 to 2002. He won his first and only Super Bowl ring with the New England Patriots in 2004. The Patriots defeated the Carolina Panthers in the final.
Fred Baxter worked with the Patriots after retiring as a player. He coached young players at Burlington County College and Camden Catholic High School between 2006 and 2009. He has also been a pillar of support in his community, encouraging and advising young boys to make the right choices.
