Renowned composer Frederick Loewe made his name known as an inductee of the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1972 and the American Theater Hall of Fame.
Early Life
The composer was born to Rosa Loewe and Edmond Loewe. He was a known prodigy since he came from a family of composers and performers. Loewe graduated from the Prussian cadet school and later enrolled in the Stern Conservatory.
Career
The composer's career began in 1942 after collaborating with Robert Lewis on a series of Broadway musicals, including "Brigadoon", "My Fair Lady", and "Camelot".
His other titles, such as "Life of the Party” and “The Day Before Spring” ran on Broadway from 1945 to 1946.
Personal Life
The composer was married to Ernestine Zwerline from 1939 to 1957.
Death
Loewe died of cardiac arrest in 1988.
Trivia
In 1995, Loewe was honored with a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
