About Frederick the Great
Frederick II, as he’s officially known, was a celebrated King of Prussia who reigned from 1740 to 1786. During his time as king, he strengthened the army of Prussia and won many wars including the Silesian Wars. He earned the name “Frederick the Great” after conquering lots of territories.
Family
He was the son of Sophia Dorothea of Hanover and Frederick William. He was married to Elisabeth Christine of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel-Bevern.
Achievements
He received lots of medals which includes Master and Sovereign of the Order of the Black Eagle, and the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth: Order of the White Eagle.
Trivia
He was also nicknamed the “Der Alte Fritz” – he was also called, "Old Fritz".
