Gene was married to fellow actress Gilda Radner until her death from ovarian cancer. Gene became an outspoken advocate for ovarian cancer research. Gene had been with his 3rd wife since 1991. Gene has one daughter.
Career
Gene's 1st major film debut was the Mel Brooks film “The Producers”. He was nominated for his 1st Academy Award. He would be nominated again for “Young Frankenstein”. Gene’s 1971 “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” was not a huge hit, it was only later that it became popular and is now considered a cult classic.
