About George A. Romero
Nicknamed “Father of the Zombie Film”, George Andrew Romero made a name for himself for his zombie horror films. The American-Canadian filmmaker became famous through his “Night of the Living Dead” film series which he started releasing in 1968 and contains the cult classic titles “Day of the Dead” and “Dawn of the Dead”. He also worked in other films outside of the series such as “Knightriders” and “Bruiser”.
Family Life
His parents were Anne Dvorsky and commercial artist George Romero. He grew up in the Bronx. He was married and divorced twice before meeting his third wife, Suzanne Desrocher, whom he married in 2011. He had two children with his second wife Christine Forrest and a son with his first wife, Nancy.
Achievements
He won the Scream Awards’ “Mastermind Award” in 2009.
