George Harrison was a celebrated English guitarist and singer-songwriter who rose to international stardom as a member of the legendary band the Beatles. He was nicknamed the "quiet Beatle". He wrote some of the Beatles' most famous songs such as Taxman, While My Guitar Gently Weeps andSomething. After the Beatles disbanded, he established a successful solo career. His most successful single as a solo artist was the hit single My Sweet Lord from his 1970 critically acclaimed triple album All Things Must Pass.
From 1966 to 1977, he was married to model Pattie Boyd. His second marriage was to Olivia Harrison. He and Olivia had a son named Dhani.
He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist in 2004.
