About George Müller
George Müller was a Christian evangelist, missionary and orphanage director. A co-founder of the Plymouth Brethren movement, he arrived in England to do missionary work through the London Society for Promoting Christianity Among the Jews in 1829. From 1832 until his death, he preached at Bethesda Chapel, along with his missionary activities, which he carried out diligently. He was the director of the New Orphan Houses, Ashley Down through which he looked after 10,024 orphans.
Family Life
He was the son of a Prussian tax collector. He was married to Mary Groves from October 1830 until her death in 1870. He remarried in 1871 to Susannah Grace Sanger who died four years before him. He outlived both of his children.
