George Elmer Pataki is a renowned American lawyer and politician who served as the 53rd governor of New York from 1995 to 2006. He went on to be elected mayor of Peekskill, New York, and later became the State Senator from the 37th district.
Early Life and Education
Pataki was born to a Hungarian-based family. Pataki was always set for greatness. After graduating from Peekskill High school, he enrolled in Yale University, where he graduated in 1967. He later furthered his education at the Columbia Law School in 1970.
Career
The career of Pataki would best be described as long and intensive. His first won elected office was in 1981, when he was selected to be the mayor of Peekskill. Pataki was then later elected to the New York State Assembly in 1984 and later to the New York state senate in1992. He later won the election to be the 53rd governor of New York from 1995 to 2006.
Personal life
Ptaki married Libby Rowland in 1973. They have four children: Allison, Emily, George Owen, and Teddy Pataki. They were all raised Catholics.
