About George Plimpton
George Plimpton was one of the founders of the literary magazine named The Paris Review. He served as the publication’s first editor in 1953. He gained global fame as a sports journalist and was one of the promoters of “participatory journalism”.
Aside from that, he was also a sportsman and participated in events like football, boxing, and baseball. He had a brief spell with NFL side the Detroit Lions where he played as a quarterback.

He divorced Freddy Medora Espy before tying the knot with Sarah Whitehead Dudley in 1991. He was survived by four kids.

He began his education at St. Bernard's School and continued at Phillips Exeter Academy. He later attended Daytona Beach High School before enrolling at Harvard College. This celebrity also studied at King's College, Cambridge.

He was also a writer and published many books including “Paper Lion” and “The Rabbit's Umbrella”.
As a boxer, he sparred with some legends like Sugar Ray Robinson and Archie Moore.
